Nicolas Poussin - French Classical Painter

Nicolas Poussin (1594 - 1665) was a French classical painter. His style consists of clarity, logic, and order, and favors line over color. He is considered the greatest French artist of the 17th century and one of the founders of European classicism which has its roots in antique and Renaissance heritage. Many of his works show an authoritative interpretation of ancient history and Greek and Roman mythological figures as well as biblical scenes. Our collection of patterns includes two self portraits, the set of his Four Seasons paintings, and a wide cross section of other pieces. These include Adoration of the Golden Calf, Nymph Syrinx Pursued by Pan, Ideal Landscape, Israelites Gathering Manna, The Judgement of Solomon, and A Dance to the Music of Time.

North American Flags

The North American continent covers about 5% of the earth's surface and is the home to over 530 million people. There are three basic regions including North America, Caribbean, and Central America with over 40 countries and territories. Our North American Flags pattern set includes the official recognized flag of each country. Aside from stars and stripes, geometric shapes, and inspiring Latin phrases on these flags, you'll find very unique symbols including nature scenes (sun rises, rainbows) , geographical features (volcanoes, mountains, streams), vegetation (palm trees, cacti, maple leafs), weapons (rifles, cannons, sabers), animals (parrots, lobsters, lions, dolphins), sailing ships, drums, conch shells, and even a red Phrygian cap!

On Cloud Nine

Clouds are visible masses of water droplets which are suspended in the earth's atmosphere. Clouds are classified in various groups depending on their altitude, structural appearance, and coloration. Cirrocumulus, Cirrostratus, Altocumulus, Altostratus, Stratocumulus, Stratus, Cumulus, Nimbostratus, and Cumulonimbus, are the most common names given. Their coloration gives clues on what they contain due to light scattering effects of water drops and ice crystals and the direction of the light hitting the clouds. Our set of cloud patterns will put you on Cloud Nine. We have many representations of clouds of various types photographed against cactuses, birds, bridges, shades, water, and grass fields. Several of the patterns are based on clouds images which have been artistically enhanced to give them a different yet, fun, and colorful appearance.

Owl be Seeing You!

Owls are birds of prey that belong to a order called Strigiformes. These solitary and nocturnal creatures are found throughout the world. They have unique characterization of a wide face, small faces, short curved beak, ear holes, and a feathered disk around each eye. Their unique coloration helps with camouflaging themselves into their environment. Owls are well designed for low-light hunting utilizing surprise and stealth as critical weapons against their foes (rodents and insects). Our collection of owl patterns includes several popular species including Barn Owls, Snowy Owls, Great Grey Owls, Burrowing Owls, Screech Owls, Northern Saw-Whet Owls, and Pearl-spotted Owlets.

Paolo Uccello - Florentine Renaissance Painter

Paolo Uccello was a talented painter living in Florence, Italy in the fifteenth century. His obsession with properly using and mastering perspective principles in his works is no doubt his lasting legacy. His analytic realism combines with his geometrization of forms and helps provide an overall effect of abstraction in many of his works. Our collection of works include the Battle of San Romano, Saint George and the Dragon, Creation of the Animals and Creation of Adam, Creation of Eve and the Expulsion, Portrait of a Lady, Portrait of a Young Man, Mary's Presentation in the Temple, and Disputation of St. Stephen. There are also a number of paintings from his narrative and fairytale style in the Miracle of the Profaned Host series. We also included the four Prophets from the Florence Cathedral clockface

Paul Czanne - Post Impressionist

A well organized collection that brings to life the most recognized works of Paul Cézanne, a French post-impressionist painter. You'll find landscapes, portraits, and still lifes of which Cézanne shows a mastery of design and an influence towards cubism. Twenty of his most famous works are included from his dark period (1861-1870), Impressionist period (1870-1878), Mature Period (1878-1890), and Final Period (1890-1905).

Paul Gauguin - Post Impressionist Synthetist

Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) was an innovative post impressionistic painter who experimented with bold colors in a mystical style of painting (soon to be called Synthetism). He was greatly influenced by the exotic Polynesian world, where Tahitian themes abound in much of his artwork. Our SegPlayPC collection is overflowing with over 35 of his most recognizable works including several self portraits, The Yellow Christ, M. Loulou, Spirit of the Dead Watching, Where Do We Come From? Paul Klee - Modern Visual Artist

Paul Klee (1879-1940) was a German and Swiss painter whose unique style was influenced by expressionism, cubism, and surrealism art movements. Much of his art work is difficult to classify in any one style. He was a teacher at the German Bauhaus school of art, design, and architecture early in his career, and later at the Düsseldorf Academy. Paul was a talented musician and played violin throughout his life. His vast experiments with color palettes and geometric forms influenced most of his art works. Our pattern collection contains many well known pieces from his vast legacy of art. Included are Death and Fire, Red Balloon, Twittering Machine, Crystal Graduation, Sign in Yellow, The Prisoner, Fortress and Sun. Conqueror, Heroic Roses, Senecio, Castle and Sun, Black Columns on a Landscape, and Southern Tunisian Gardens.

Penguins - Our Antarctic Friends

Penguins are flightless, aquatic birds who live primarily in Antarctica, though some are found as far north as the Galapagos Islands. They feed on squid, fish, and krill. The most common species are the Emperor, King, Adeline, Gentoo, Rock Hopper, African, and Little Blue Penguins. They are active communicators, though their hearing is not the best. They sleep standing up, spend long times in the water, and are oriented by the sun. Our pattern set of Penguin patterns shows a number of different species in the wild and at zoos, and in various poses. Our flightless friends are back dropped against snow capped mountains, blue skies, beaches, and oceans.

Peter Paul Rubens - Flemish Baroque Painter

Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) was a Flemish Baroque Painter living in Antwerp. He was a proponent of the Flemish art style, which included movement, color, and sensuality. He is well known for his religious altarpieces, portraits, landscapes, and history paintings of mythological and allegorical subjects. His travels to Italy and Spain allowed him to be influenced by other masters including Titian, Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci. Our collection of patterns includes Honeysuckle Bower, The Elevation of the Cross, Venus at the Mirror, and Prometheus Bound.
