Anthony Van Dyck - Flemish Portrait Painter

Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641) was one of the great Flemish Painters of the 17th century. His refined and elegant style is an underlying strength in all of his works. He is perhaps best known as the painter for Charles I for whom he created a multitude of portraits with royalty as subjects. Our SegPlayPC collection of 29 images showcases many of his well-known portrait images. You'll find several self-portraits (including the Sunflower one). There are also portraits of Charles I, Henrietta Marie, Elena Grimaldi, Marie-Louise de Tassis, Frans and Margareta Synders, William II Prince of Orange, Nicholas Lanier, Isabella Brant, and the three eldest children of Charles I.

Leonardo da Vinci - The Renaissance Man

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was an amazingly talented and well rounded individual who lived in Italy during the Renaissance period (1500-1600). His talents included architecture, engineering, mathematics, music, and of course painting. Considered one of the greatest painters of all time, we are excited to bring many of his famous works into the creative world of SegPlayPC (No doubt Leonardo himself would have enjoyed this form of painting!). This collection contains all of his well known images including the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Bacchus, The Baptism of Christ, Madonna Litta, Annunciation, and many many more.

Joseph Mallord William Turner - Painter of Light

Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775 - 1851) was a controversial English landscape painter. His eccentric style matched his subjects - shipwrecks, fires, natural catastrophes, as well as natural phenomena such as sunlight, storms, rain, and fog. The significance of light to Turner resembled God's spirit. In his later paintings he concentrated on the play of light on water and the radiances of skies and fires, almost to an Impressionistic style. Our collection of Joseph Mallord William Turner patterns includes many examples of his style including The Fighting Temeraire, The Shipwreck of the Minotaur, Snow Storm, The Grand Canal, Peace - Burial at Sea, and Rain, Steam and Speed .

Rocks divert incoming waves, create a random spray of water, and reflect sunlight in arbitrary directions, creating a unique beauty for all to enjoy, We've pulled together a set of images that depict rocky beaches with various characteristics. You'll find a wide range of colorful elements in the tide pools, sunsets, cloud formations, surf, boulders, distant islands, coastlines, mist, and vegetation hiding in these patterns.

Ducks in a Row

Duck is a common name for a large number of species of birds which includes both swans and geese. Ducks are characterized by having long necks, broad bills, scaled legs, colorful plumage, and short, pointed wings. Popular types of ducks include Mandarin, Mallard, Teals, and Wood (also known as Carolina). You can find ducks all over the world in suitable habitats. Our Duck pattern set includes many images of colorful ducks sitting, flying, landing, and walking in their natural environments. You'll find ducklings, mallards, mandarins, and teals in assorted poses and photographic compositions.

Casper David Friedrich - The Essence of German Romanticism

Caspar David Friedrich (1774 - 1840) was a German landscape painter in the 19th century whose art has come to symbolize many of the attributes of the Romantic Movement. His symbolic landscapes reflect his feelings about man's relationship with nature, life cycles, as well as his own personal spiritual experiences with life. Our set of Caspar David Friedrich patterns includes many that contain the allegorical symbols used in his Romantic visions: sun and moon, mountains, rivers, icy seas, trees, ravines, fog, snow, clouds, churches and crosses, graveyards, and various animals (swans, ravens). We've include many of his most recognized works including Swans in the Reeds, The Cross in the Mountains, The Tree of Crows, On the Sailboat, Chalk Cliffs on Rügen, The Life Stages, and In Memory of the Riesengebirge.

Sir Henry Raeburn - Scottish Portrait Painter

Sir Henry Raeburn (1756 -1823) was a successful Scottish portrait painter who lived in Edinburgh. His works are characterized by strong characterization, stark realism, and dramatic lighting effects. He typically employed clashing color combinations, and a course modeling technique. Our pattern set includes many of his portraits, including his most recognized work, The Skating Minister. Other portraits include Boy and Rabbit, Alexander Ranaldson MacDonell of Glengarry, Sir Walter Scott, Mrs. Robert Scott Moncrieff, and Sir John Sinclair. There is also a self portrait included in the set.

Castles around the World

Castles are defensive structures built primarily in the Middle Ages. Rather than being strictly military in use, castles were the prime residence ofnobles and monarchs. Castles had various uses including being prisons, and socializing places. They also had some offensive uses including the storage of weapons and serving as a military camp. Our collection of castle patterns contains picturesque images of castles throughout the world. The castles are shown in the natural beauty reflecting in water, backdropped by clear and cloudy skies, and surrounded by trees and other vegetation.

George Catlin - Painter of American Indians

George Catlin (1796-1872) was an American painter who traveled throughout the Americas and painted many portraits of American Indians. At the beginning of his career after a stint as a lawyer, he traveled with William Clark into Native American territory. He eventually visited up to 50 different tribes at a time when they were untouched by European civilization. His lifetime collection of art works total over 500 accompanied by over 700 sketches. Our collection of patterns contains a great many of his portraits of male and female Indian chiefs, warriors, braves, medicine men, and ball players. There are also patterns with buffalos, horses, and a river landscape.

Edward Bannister - African American Artist

Edward M. Bannister (1828 - 1901) was an African American artist in the late 19th century whose works focused on landscapes and seascapes, with an emphasis on pastoral subject matter. Although well known in his adopted home of Providence, Rhode Island, his talents were forgotten for over a century due to among other reasons, racial prejudice. We've pulled together a large collection of his works in this pattern set. There are some of his more recognized works included (Driving Home the Cows, The Doryman, Approaching Storm, Sabin Point). There are also many other examples of his landscape works, and also some still lifes, and a few portraits.

Jules Tavernier - Hawaii's Volcano School Artist

Jules Tavernier (1844-1889) was a French painter and was an artist of Hawaii’s Volcano School., a group of non-Hawaiian artists who painted nocturnal scenes of Hawaii's erupting Volcanoes. Taverier also painted landscapes in the San Francisco and Monterey areas. His work was so popular in Hawaii that he became the official painter to the king. Our pattern set contains Volcano at Night, Wailuku Falls, Sunrise over Diamond Head, Marin Sunset in Back of Petaluma, El Capitan, Indian Encampment, A Balloon in Mid-Air, West Coast Indian Baskets on a Blanket, and Waiting for Montezuma.

Peter Paul Rubens - Flemish Baroque Painter

Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) was a Flemish Baroque Painter living in Antwerp. He was a proponent of the Flemish art style, which included movement, color, and sensuality. He is well known for his religious altarpieces, portraits, landscapes, and history paintings of mythological and allegorical subjects. His travels to Italy and Spain allowed him to be influenced by other masters including Titian, Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci. Our collection of patterns includes Honeysuckle Bower, The Elevation of the Cross, Venus at the Mirror, and Prometheus Bound.
