Monster Mash

Monsters are fictional characters usually shown as ugly creatures with a few man-like attributes. They behave in an evil, horrible, and menacing manner while attempting to scare and harm the viewer. Our Segmation set of monsters are depict a bit more friendly and colorful set of characters which you'll enjoy coloring during the Halloween season and throughout the year. In this set we've included a few Frankenstein, devils, aliens, mummies, lizards, and things.

Hugo van der Goes - Flemish Painter

Hugo van der Goes (c. 1440 - 1482-83) was a Flemish painter best known for his Portinari Altarpiece in which he depicts the adoration of the shepherds. The work is in the form of a Triptych (three hinged panels) and is the largest Netherlandish work that could be seen in Florence at the time. He was a master in the painter's guild in the city of Ghent and is considered the greatest Netherlandish painter of the second half of the 15th century for both his masterful handling of oil painting and psychological depiction of individuals in his scenes. Our set contains most of his works including The Fall of Man, The Adoration of the Shepherd, The Calvary Triptych, The Monforte Altarpiece, and The Lamentation of Christ.

Cactus Colors

A cactus is a plant with a distinct appearance which has adapted well to dry and hot environments. Their stems have evolved to be photosynthetic (creating energy from sunlight) and succulent (retaining water). Their leaves have evolved into protective spines. There are many sizes and shapes of cacti which are frequently uses as ornamental plants throughout the world. Colorful flowers are grown from distinctive features called areoles. Our set of Cactus patterns are based on natural photographs and include many of the common varieties including Barrel Cactus, Queen Victoria Agave, Holiday Cactus, Prickly Pear, and Saguaro.

Bartolom Esteban Murillo - Spanish Baroque Painter

Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617-1682) was a Spanish Baroque painter who painted scenes of everyday life in seventeenth century Seville, Spain. He also painted many religious themes including the Annunciation, Madonna and Child, and the Immaculate Conception. In the centuries after his death, he had a great reputation in Europe (even more so than Velázquez) and considered the last great painter of the Spanish Golden Age. Murillo's paintings bridge the dark simplicity of Spain's early Baroque artists and the sensuality of the approaching Rococo era. Our collection of patterns includes a wide selection of his art including A Girl and Her Duenna, Beggar Boys eating Grapes and Melon, The Flower Girl, St. Lesmes, The Little Fruit Seller, Young Boys Playing Dice, and a self portrait.

Snug as a Bug

Bugs are miniature marvels that are quite diverse. Entomology, a specialty in the field of biology, is the study of insects and includes more than two thirds of all known organisms. These creatures include bees, beetles, flies, moths, butterflies, ants, grasshoppers, crickets, dragonflies, earthworms, snails, slugs, arachnids, and centipedes. We've put together a fun collection of colorful bug illustrations in this set. You'll find a worm in an apple, a smiling snail, a grinning spider, a busy bee, a whimsical spider, a lady bug on a green leaf, a snail in its shell, and a moth showing off its colorful wings.

Nicolas Poussin - French Classical Painter

Nicolas Poussin (1594 - 1665) was a French classical painter. His style consists of clarity, logic, and order, and favors line over color. He is considered the greatest French artist of the 17th century and one of the founders of European classicism which has its roots in antique and Renaissance heritage. Many of his works show an authoritative interpretation of ancient history and Greek and Roman mythological figures as well as biblical scenes. Our collection of patterns includes two self portraits, the set of his Four Seasons paintings, and a wide cross section of other pieces. These include Adoration of the Golden Calf, Nymph Syrinx Pursued by Pan, Ideal Landscape, Israelites Gathering Manna, The Judgement of Solomon, and A Dance to the Music of Time.

Beach Fun

Enjoy a relaxing day at the beach - being outdoors with the sun, sand, and surf. There are lots of fun activities to keep you busy including volleyball, sailing, windsurfing, swimming, playing with beach balls, fishing, building sand castles, watching the sun set, or doing nothing at all except working on your tan. Our Beach Fun pattern set has a great set of images which capture this experience splendidly… and there’s no suntan oil needed!

Camille Corot - French Landscape Artist

Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot (1796-1875) was a French Landscape painter who had a strong influence on Impressionism. Corot was the leading painter of the Barbizon school of France in the mid-nineteenth century and his landscape style referenced a neo-classical style with a muted color palette. Many forgeries of Corot were created in the period 1870-1939, mostly because of his easy to imitate style. Our pattern set includes many examples of landscapes and portraits. You'll find Woman with a Pear, The Bridge at Narmi, Meditation, Orpheus Leading Eurydice, Interrupted Reading, Recollections of Mortefontaine, A Windmill in Montmartre, The Letter, Aqueducts in the Roman Campagna, Temple of Minerva Medica, Agostina, and Castel Gandolfo. There are also several self portraits.

European Flags

Europe is one of the world's seven continents with a population of 731 million. Its border is somewhat arbitrary, defined by convention, historical references, cultural and political elements. There are 50 internationally recognized European sovereign states which we have included in our European Flags set. These colorful and graphic flags contain coats of arms, shields, crosses, maps, animals, buildings, artwork, stars, stripes, and other symbols of which interpretations have historical and symbolic meanings.

Giotto di Bondone - Father of European Painting

Giotto di Bondone (1266? - 1337) was an early Italian Renaissance Painter and Architect from Florence. Giotto made a radical break from the Byzantine (abstract - anti-naturalistic) style and brought more life to art. Giotto primarily painted Christian themes depicted in cycles and is best known for his frescos in various Chapels (Arene Chapel, Florence Cathedral, Assisi, Scrovegni). Our pattern set collection features many of his more familiar works including the Ognissanti Madonna, The Mourning of Christ, The Marriage at Cana, The Mourning of St. Francis, Crucifixion and Madonna and Child.

Lady Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is a massive sculpture located in New York Harbor. It was designed by Frédéric Bartholdi and is a gift to the United States from France. Dedicated in 1886, it has become an icon of liberty and freedom and a recognized landmark throughout the world. The 151 foot Lady Liberty holds a torch with her right hand and a tablet, symbolizing the law, in her left hand. Our set of Lady Liberty patterns are based on a wonderful set of photographs of the statue. Back dropped against blue skies, and wispy clouds, the patterns show the Statue of Liberty from many angles and various close-ups. We've also included a pattern of the Las Vegas replica of the statue.

Jan van Eyck - Renaissance Realist

Jan van Eyck (c. 1395 - 1441) was a Flemish painter considered to be one of the best Northern European painters of the 15th century. Because of his effective use of glazes, wet-on-wet, and other techniques, he was known as the father of oil painting. For much of his life he served as a painter and valet de chambre to Duke Philip the Good of Burgundy. Jan van Eyck produced paintings for both private clients as well as for the court. Among his most famous works is the Ghent Altarpiece, a polyptych containing many works included in our pattern set. Other paintings included are Arnolfini Portrait, Annunciation, the Stygmata of St. Francis, Portrait of a Goldsmith, Portrait of a Young Man, Portrait of a Man in a Turban, Portrait of a Man with Carnation, Portrait of Margareta van Eyck, and Portrait of Jan de Leeuw.
