Robert Henri - American Portrait Artist and Teacher

Robert Henri (1865 - 1929) was an American painter and teacher and a leading figure of the Ashcan School of American realism. The Ashcan school was a moment away from impressionism and focused more on realistic art which would be more relevant to the artist’s time and experience. Henri became a influential art teacher emphasizing more the attitude to their approach to art. His works comprise many portraits including those of his fellow painters. Our collection of Robert Henri patterns includes many of his most recognized works including Salone, Mary Agnes, Woman in Manteau, Irish Boy, La Reina Mora, the Goat Herder, El Tango, Viv in Blue Stripes, Segovian Girl , Roshanara, Patience, as well as several landscapes.

Leapin' Lizards

Lizards are a widespread group of reptiles with nearly 1000 species. They're characterized with feet, external ears, scaled and spiny body, vivid coloring in their tails, a brightly colored dewlap on their throat. Common lizard types include Iguana, anoles, geckos, Komodo dragon, spiny-tailed lizards, thorny devil, Gila monster, Jackson's chameleon, Central bearded dragon, Our pattern set for lizards includes many well photographed lizards in various natural settings. The Lizards are in numerous colors and some are well camouflaged into their environments. There are also some well composed lizard close-ups.

Joshua Reynolds - English Portrait Painter

Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723-1792) was an eighteen century English painter who specialized in portraits. He was one of the founders of the Royal Academy of Arts in London which promotes arts through education and exhibition. He is best known for his numerous portraits, particularly those of children where their innocence and natural grace was emphasized. Reynolds was a hard worker who never married, and had constant interaction from the wealthy and famous men of the day. Our pattern set collection of Joshua Reynolds, contains a cross section of portrait styles including Lord Keppel, Jane Fleming, Lavinia Spencer, Lord Robert Spencer, George Townshend, John Frederick Sackville, Edward Cornwallis, Young Fortune Teller, Gertrude Duchess of Bedford, and many more.

Autumn Colors

Autumn is one of four temperate seasons on this planet, characterized as the season of harvests and changing color in vegetation. Leaves change color from green to red, yellow, purple, and brown due to decreasing levels of chlorophyll sent to them through the veins. Many communities experience an increase in tourism to see fall foliage vistas which is sometimes called leaf peeping. Our pattern set of Autumn Colors includes numerous images of colored leaves, both with solitary leaves, clusters of trees, forests, country roads, and waterways.

Cimabue - Florentine Painter

Cimabue (c. 1240 - 1302) also known as Bencivieni di Pepo was a Florentine Painter and a creator of mosaics. He was a pioneer in transforming the prevailing art style from a flat and stylized form into one that was more natural with subtle effects such as shading and realistic proportions. His most documented works include a Crucifix in the Basilica di Santa Croce, Maestà in San Francesco at Pisa, and Madonna with Child Enthroned, Four Angels and St. Francis at Assisi. Our pattern set includes these works with some details made into individual patterns and others paintings including The Madonna in Majesty, The Capture of Christ, The Flagellation of Christ, and Madonna di Castelfiorentino.

Spiral Splendor

A spiral is a curve which starts from a central point and gets progressively further away as it revolves around the point. This theme is common in nature in many forms - plant growth, animal parts such as horns, shells, teeth, in even wind erosion, and even DNA structure itself. The patterns in this set highlight spiral forms in numerous natural settings. You'll find spiral shaped millipedes, plant leaves, daisies, cabbage, smoke, and snail shells.

Thomas Moran - American Landscape Painter

Thomas Moran (1837 - 1926) was an American painter of the Hudson River School best known for his paintings of the Rocky Mountains. His sketches of western landscape captured the imagination of the American public and helped make Yellowstone a US national park. Our pattern collection for Thomas Moran contains many of his most famous works including The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Tower Fall, Green River, The Three Tetons, Mosquito Trail, Shoshone Falls, Trojes Mines, An Arizona Sunset, Pass at Glencoe, and the Mountain of the Holy Cross.

Cowabunga!

Cows are animals that are raised for beef and dairy products, and also used as a power source for pulling carts. They also provide leather for many products, and dung for manure and fuel. In some cultures cows are considered sacred. There are many words used to describe cows depending on their sex and age: maverick, heifer, calf, steer, bull, springer, and freemartin. Groups of cows are called cattle. Our patterns of cows depict them in an illustrated and humorous form with varying colors, enlarged utters, and adorned with flowers and cowbells. You'll find our cows enjoying themselves on tractors, pretending to be super-cow, being lovesick, dancing, and gazing at a flying bee!

Jos Agustn Arrieta - Mexican Painter of the People

José Agustín Arrieta (1803-1874) was a Mexican painter known for painting scenes and people of his native city, Puebla. Influenced by Murillo and Velázquez, he was skilled in the use of color, anatomy, and composition. He is best known for his depictions of everyday life, capturing food, people, and clothing of the Puebla village. His still life depictions full of food, glassware, animals, and fruits, are of a natural representation, avoiding any symbolism. Our pattern collection contains his most recognized works including The Gypsy Boy and Girl, Tertulia de Pulquería, Maid, Village Girl, Mexican Family, and a number of his Still Life's.

Rocky Beaches

Rocks divert incoming waves, create a random spray of water, and reflect sunlight in arbitrary directions, creating a unique beauty for all to enjoy, We've pulled together a set of images that depict rocky beaches with various characteristics. You'll find a wide range of colorful elements in the tide pools, sunsets, cloud formations, surf, boulders, distant islands, coastlines, mist, and vegetation hiding in these patterns.

Honor Daumier - French Painter and Caricaturist

Honoré Daumier (1808-1879) was a French caricaturist, painter, and sculptor. He is best known for his caricatures of political figures and countrymen. As the son of a glazier, he moved to Paris at age eight, and spent his time in apprentice jobs copying works in the Louvre. His produced many artworks in his career including 500 oil paintings which were subjective and of various themes. Our pattern set collection of Honoré Daumier contain his most recognized works including Dandy, Don Quijote, Crispin and Scapin, The Chess Players, The Lawyer, The Wrestler, The First Class Carriage, The Second Class Carriage, and Third Class Carriage, and The Print Lover.

We love our dogs..our faithful and loving household companions. As with our first Dogs set, this collection of patterns showcases many great portrait shots of pets taken by their admiring owners. Many breeds are represented including a Collie, Standard Poodle, Pug, Great Dane, Labrador Retriever, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Chihuahua, Maltese, and Japanese Spitz. There's also a few good looking mutts!
