James McNeill Whistler - Art for Art's Sake

James McNeill Whistler (1834-1903) was an American born, British painter who believed Art should be for Art's sake, not for state or religious purposes. His personal motif was a stylized butterfly, which he signed most of his paintings with. Michelangelo - Italian Renaissance Artist

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni (1475 - 1564) was an amazingly talented Italian Renaissance painter and sculptor. Our SegPlayPC collection contains 23 patterns mostly from his renown paintings of the Sistine Chapel in Rome including The Last Judgement, The Sibyl of Delphi, The Cumaean Sibyl, The Creation of Adam, The Prophet Jeremiah, The Erythraean Sibyl, Ignudo, and The Creation of the Sun and Moon. We have also included patterns of two of his most well known sculptures: David and Giuliano de' Medici.

Edgar Degas - Modern Artist, par excellence

Edgar Degas (1834-1917) was a original French artist who detoured from the Impressionist style, and experimented with realism, off-center compositions, cropping, color, and form. His favorite subjects included dancers, café life, horses, and women in non-traditional poses (bathing, combing hair and doing laundry). Zodiac Signs

The Zodiac is a ring of constellations that form a path across the celestial sky that the Sun takes. There are twelve constellations which divide the path into equal portions. Saint Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick's Day is originally a Catholic holiday which is celebrated annually on March 17. The day has evolved to become a secular celebration of Irish culture. Saint Patrick was a real person who joined the Church in Britain around the year 432, and among other legends, used the shamrock to teach the Christian doctrine of the Trinity to the Irish people. Today many participate in this event by wearing green clothing and other items. Our pattern set contains many elements of this holiday including leprechauns, pots of gold, rainbows, clovers, large green hats, and of course drinking green beer.

European Flags

Europe is one of the world's seven continents with a population of 731 million. Its border is somewhat arbitrary, defined by convention, historical references, cultural and political elements. There are 50 internationally recognized European sovereign states which we have included in our European Flags set. These colorful and graphic flags contain coats of arms, shields, crosses, maps, animals, buildings, artwork, stars, stripes, and other symbols of which interpretations have historical and symbolic meanings.

Snug as a Bug

Bugs are miniature marvels that are quite diverse. Entomology, a specialty in the field of biology, is the study of insects and includes more than two thirds of all known organisms. These creatures include bees, beetles, flies, moths, butterflies, ants, grasshoppers, crickets, dragonflies, earthworms, snails, slugs, arachnids, and centipedes. We've put together a fun collection of colorful bug illustrations in this set. You'll find a worm in an apple, a smiling snail, a grinning spider, a busy bee, a whimsical spider, a lady bug on a green leaf, a snail in its shell, and a moth showing off its colorful wings.

Monsters are fictional characters usually shown as ugly creatures with a few man-like attributes. They behave in an evil, horrible, and menacing manner while attempting to scare and harm the viewer.
