Cat Purrfection

Alfred Sisley - English Impressionist

Diego Velzquez - The Great Spanish Master

As a court painter to the Spanish King Philip IV in 17th century Spain, Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez (more commonly referred to as Diego Velázquez) was the leading Spanish artist of his time. His modern and realistic portraits of the royal family, European figures, as well as commoners, served as a major influence for many prominent painters in future years including Picasso, Dali, Bacon, and Manet. Anthony Van Dyck - Flemish Portrait Painter

Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641) was one of the great Flemish Painters of the 17th century. His refined and elegant style is an underlying strength in all of his works. He is perhaps best known as the painter for Charles I for whom he created a multitude of portraits with royalty as subjects. Our SegPlayPC collection of 29 images showcases many of his well-known portrait images. You'll find several self-portraits (including the Sunflower one). There are also portraits of Charles I, Henrietta Marie, Elena Grimaldi, Marie-Louise de Tassis, Frans and Margareta Synders, William II Prince of Orange, Nicholas Lanier, Isabella Brant, and the three eldest children of Charles I.

John Constable - British Landscape Artist

John Constable (1776-1837) was an English Romantic painter who was best known for his landscape paintings, which vividly showed the sky and clouds as never before. His use of sketches and note taking to plan and record his work was also novel for the time. Horsing Around

Horses have long been the most important economically domesticated animals, but that distinction has declined with the rise of industrial and mechanized societies. Today horses are kept for mostly leisure activities including riding, racing, and just being large pets. We've put together a great artistic collection of 23 Horse patterns showing these equestrian creatures in numerous positions, gaits, and scenic backdrops. These patterns show horses in: a few racing scenes, riding into the sunset, smiling for the camera, grazing in the grass, standing at the fence, and walking on the beach.

Camille Pissarro - Father of Impressionism

Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) was a French Impressionist painter who painted scenes of urban and rural landscapes. He frequently used peasants and laborers as subject matters in his works. He is considered the father of impressionism mostly because of his mentoring relationships with Cézanne, Gauguin, Degas, and other impressionist artists of the times. Our SegPlayPC collection of 27 patterns contains a wide sampling of his art style.
