Amedeo Modigliani – Italian Modern Painter

Amedeo Modigliani (1884 – 1920) was an Italian painter and sculptor who lived mostly in France. He is best known for his portraits and nudes with a characteristic style of elongated faces and figures. He achieved little success during his life, but after his death his works became very popular and were sold for high prices. He is known to have painted from a very early age and was indulged by his mother to continue in that profession. Our Modigliani pattern set includes many of his well known portraits including Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Jeanne Hébuterne, Madame Kisling, Maude Abrantes, Chaim Soutine, Leopold Zborowski, Young Redhead in an Evening Dress, Gypsy Woman with Baby , The Little Peasant, Bride and Groom , and Beatrice Hastings. There is also a self portrait and several nudes.
